Let's get straight into it!
What the product actually is?
It is the By Vilain Gold Digger Limited Edition. By Vilain was created by Slikhaar TV, Emil and Rusmas, who are big on Youtube. It is an Extreme Hold and Matte finish Hair Wax. It is their best seller and their first hair product. The reason they made this product was because they had reached 1 000 000 subscribers on Youtube.

Ingredients
It's a hair wax that is water based because the first ingredient featured at the start of the ingredients is Aqua (water). It Thereafter has a lot of chemical compounds i.e. Petrolatum, Ozokerite, Hydrogenated Microcrystalline Wax, Cera Alba, Copernicia Cerifera Cera (Carnauba), VP/VA Copolymer, Cetearyl Alcohol, PVP, Ceteareth-27, Lanolin, Dimethicone, Ceteareth-12, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Parfum, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene.
Packaging
The 2015 edition was a bit cool with the gold label and the black and white font, and in between the lid and the jar it had a gold lining. It looked premium and from the look of the jar you know there is something premium inside when you open the chest to find your Gold.

The 2016 edition is extremely awesome with the shiny gold label and the black font. This time around it doesn't have the gold lining. It looks premium and from the look of the jar you know there is something premium inside when you open the chest to find your Gold.

Smell
When Slikhaar TV spoke on their blog about this wax they said it has a tropical scent with a touch of Vanilla. In My Opinion it smells more tropical. I am a big fan of the scent. The scent doesn't actually make a difference because after you apply the wax it does go away after about 10-15 minutes. It is a little overpowering so I apply cologne after I style my hair with this product. I love the smell because it is good to start of the day with a good scent and when I open the jar I have to take a sniff before I use it.
Consistency
It is a very soft wax and extremely pliable and when warming it up it becomes . It is thick because it's a wax so when using it you need a small amount of wax. If you feel the hold is a bit sloppy add more. Its best to start with less product and add more if needed.
Ease of application
You start to work the wax into your hair when it is clear in your hands. It is very easy to apply but make sure you work fast to get the product evenly distributed because it dries up quickly.
Styling
It has a lot of grip and is a bit sticky because it is a high hold product. It gives a lot of volume but also holding the hair into position. It gives you the look you want but I suggest blow-drying and using a pre-styler e.g By Vilain Sidekick or Original By Blumaan before you use any wax as you will achieve much more volume and definition to the hairstyle you achieving.
Finish
It says it's a matte finish product and that's exactly what it is. It gives it the no product look and it doesn't give off any natural glow or shine. The wax does give off a bit of texture and a lot of definition to your desired hairstyle.
Hold
It says it has an Extreme Hold. They have been really accurate on what the hold is like. It is also reworkable but not so flexible, which I prefer because the hair won't get out of place and always keep that masterpiece in place. It doesn't need a hairspray to lock the style in place.
Washability
To remove the product completely you have to shampoo and Condition the hair preferably using By Vilain Skyline Breeze shampoo and Conditioner. Rinsing with just water won't remove the product completely from your hair.
Price (In ZAR)
The 2015 edition was R250.
The 2016 edition was R400.
Verdict
Would I recommend By Vilain Gold Digger? Yes, I would, it is my personal favourite and I use it almost everyday. This review was not sponsored by anyone I buy these products and I review them to enlighten you and give you a rundown of what the product actually is. I don't get paid to speak good about the products we have.
Note: The By Vilain Gold Digger Limited Edition is no longer available but the normal By Vilain Gold Digger is available. It is exactly the same just the scent isn't. We aren't sure if the Limited Edition will come back in stock later in the year.

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading about the most popular By Vilain wax and the first wax created by Slikhaar. We hope to see you make a purchase soon.
